Color as Medium

Ayça Kılıçoğlu is a San Francisco based visual artist and founder of Mür by Ayça, a lifestyle brand celebrated for its bold and joyful designs. With a background in creating whimsical, colorful textile patterns, she has always been deeply drawn to vibrant color and playful form. Color, in her words, is her medium.

Her recent body of paintings marks a new chapter in her artistic journey. Inspired by architecture and the rhythm of urban landscapes, this series unfolds through layered compositions where structure meets abstraction. The works build a visual language of rhythm and depth, reflecting her ongoing fascination with form and color while inviting open interpretation.
Ayca holds an MA in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University and a professional certification from UC Berkeley, where she later taught design and illustration. Beyond her studio practice, she has collaborated with museums, hotels, and brands, extending her work into projects that bring art into everyday life. Her work has been recognized with design awards and featured in publications such as Elle Decoration and PopSugar.

Across disciplines, Ayca’s practice celebrates boldness, joy, and curiosity. Whether on fabric or canvas, her work reflects a lifelong devotion to color, pattern, and storytelling.
